JEAN-JACQUES VENTURINI - ARTIST / PAINTER - PAINTING GALLERY


 
Jean-Jacques VENTURINI, born in 1948, discovers painting at a very young age. A boarding student at the Michelet high-school in Vanves, he spends his free time in Paris Montparnasse in his mentor's - Pierre DUPONT - paintshop, a painter, a sculptor who won the first prize in the Rome contest, as well as a musician. This is when JJV first learns to create sketches and executes his first paintings, giving birth within him to a permanent need to create.
 
After studies which naturally led him to drawing and graphic arts, he starts his professional life in 1967, simultaneously working as a graphic designer and living his artist's life. The same year, he joins the "lettrisme" group of Isou. He discovers Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the lettrists' headquarters and in particular the "Café Moineau" on the rue du Four. He regularly sees Maurice Lemaitre, Roland Sabatier, Alain Satié, François Poyet, Gérard-Philippe Broutin, Jacques Spacagna… He works with Mirabelle Dors, president of the "Salon de la jeune Peinture" (new artists expo / tradeshow), and founder of the "Figuration Critique" movement.
 
A number of years ago, JJV moved to Juan-les-Pins...
