J.J. VENTURINI'S BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1948 in the region of Gard(France), Jean-Jacques Venturini started his working life in Paris in 1967, juggling between his work as a graphic artist and his painting career. That same year he joined the Lettrist group Isidore Isou.
He also works with Mirabelle Dors, President of the Exhibition of young painters and founder of the movement critic Figuration.
He launches then an entrepreneurial venture which allows him to practice his skills as a graphic designer and to work with large industrial groups.
In recent years, Jean-Jacques Venturini lives in Juan-les-Pins, where he gradually relieved himself from his various professional activities and took over the brush, to venture himself into a new stylistic direction and satisfy his fondness for the eclecticism.
Being faithful to his need for autonomy, free in his self-educated career and marked by years of industry-oriented development, he develops in his new paintings an innate sens of detail which became a passion.
Although he has ever proclaimed his painting as a movement, Jean-Jacques Venturini is enrolled in the course of narrrative figuration that emerged in the early 1960s, born from the new figuration of the 50s.
Despite his attention to detail, his work focuses on finding the atmosphere through contrasts of light and shadow, effects of substances identified in the draft. The brushwork of his painting is an approach which combines intimate heat and inhabited silence, hidden characters and psychoanalytic symbolism.
